NETGEAR wireless extenders can be given their own SSID for devices to connect to, but some users want to use the same SSID as the main wireless router. NETGEAR wireless extenders such as the WN1000RP, WN3000RP, EX6200, and others allow users to select the desired SSID, for example “NETGEAR-EXT” or “Home-Ext.” In some cases, users may desire for the SSID on the extender to be the same as the SSID used on the main wireless router. In that case you need to change the name of Extender and just follow the normal process and if you facing a trouble doing that, please contact technical support on 1-877-557-6312.
Setting up your wifi range extender with your AirCard Mobile Hotspot is the same as it is done with router or MCR. For this procedure you need to make sure that all the devices are in the same room and after that just follow the process of setup. If you are not able to perform the setup or unable to connect it then, your hotspot needs to be configured in compatibility mode or your computer might have to optimized to perform the network extension opration and for that please contact technical support on 1-855-888-8816.
NETGEAR range extenders such as the WN1000RP, WN3500RP, EX6100, and EX6200 do not need an installation CD to get them up and running, nor do they need special software or drivers. Much like NETGEAR wireless routers, the installation wizard is built into each extender, and it’s simple to install an extender without any additional items. What you need to do is, just follow the WPS or Web Browser Setup procedure and if you are still not sure then contact technical support. We will make sure that all of your issues are resolved up to your satisfaction.
Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is a network security standard that allow users to easily secure a wireless home network. Some of NETGEAR’s products use the name Push ‘n’ Connect for WPS. To use WPS, your product must support WPS and be compatible with WPA security. WPS can automatically set up a random network name (SSID) and strong WPA wireless security for wireless routers, access points, computers, adapters, Wi-Fi phones, and other electronic devices. A major security flaw was revealed in December 2011 that affects wireless routers with the WPS PIN feature. The flaw allows a remote attacker to recover the WPS PIN in a few hours of brute attack and, with the WPS PIN, the network’s WPA/WPA2 pre-shared key or password. Once the attacker have your networks WPA/WPA2 pre-shared key or password, they can connect to your network without your consent and take advantage. If you suspect that someone is trying to access your router through brute force, please technical Support on 1-877-557-6312 to disable or turn off the WPS capability of your router modem and extender to get a secure connection.
Its very easy to connect your Netgear router and extender together but sometimes you find that using manual setup you are unable to connect the NETGEAR WIFI Extender and you need help with that. This could be due to incorrect setup of extender, firewall blocking your communication to extender, router extender communication issue or any malicious software on connecting computer causing issue. For any above said issue, please contact technical support and report the error or problem to get it fixed. If you ignore such errors then, possibly your network can be attacked by Online Brute Threats or viruses. Please contact technical support on 1-888-452-0699.
In such scenario you need to make sure that you have connected the extender to router correctly and you are using correct wireless password. If you are sure that you have entered the correct wireless password and still facing same issue, then you need to contact technical support and you need extensive troubleshooting for fixing such kind of issues. Please contact Technical Support on 1-888-452-0699.
In this situation, the wireless channel that your router or access point (AP) is using, may be experiencing interference from other devices. Regardless of where you are, some channels are more free of interference than others. Interference is caused by other devices using the same channel that your equipment is using. For example a microwave, a 2.4 GHz phone, or a neighbor’s wireless network can cause interference. To fix this problem, determine which is the least congested channel in your area and configure your router or AP to use that channel.
If you have forgotten or lost the password required to access your NETGEAR router’s administrative web interface, please see Restoring a NETGEAR Router to Factory Default Settings.
